Mohan Babu and maverick movie maker Ram Gopal Varma have come up with the Rayalseema faction thriller ‘Rowdy’. Rowdy has been creating positive buzz in the media, ever since Ram Gopal Varma launched it. In addition, its Posters and Promos have not only garnered great response from fans, but also soared up the movie lovers' expectations to the sky. The movie has released in theatres across Telangana and Seemandhra today (April 4). Let's see whether it reached the expectations or not ..

Story :-

Anna Garu (Mohan Babu) is a feared and respected leader of the masses in Rayalaseema. He is the ultimate authority in the region when it comes to taking decisions. Many political leaders and officials operate according to his wishes. He has two sons, Bhushan and Krishna ( Vishnu Manchu) . While Krishna is an obedient and intelligent guy, Bhushan is an arrogant, cruel and crooked son. Naturally, Anna Garu doesn’t like Bhushan and mistreats him.

This is exploited by some powerful enemies of Anna Garu ( Industrialist KR, Vedantham Murthy and Jeeva). Anna Garu is against their plan of coming up with a major project in the area and they entice Bhushan with promises of power and money, to kill Anna Garu. This has unexpected consequences. What happens next? Will Anna Garu survive? That forms the story of ‘Rowdy’.

Performance :-

Mohan Babu performed well in the role tailor made for him. He showed all kinds of emotions like never before and his dance with Jayasudha is the highlight in the film. Jayasudha is ok in her role as a caring mother. Vishnu played serious role after entertaining all in comedy roles. He did well but there is much scope to express himself. 

Shanvi got limited scope to perform but she turned red hot in a song. Tanikella Bharani showed his talent as a cunning and wicked villain. Others like Ravi Babu, Kishore played according to the script. 

Technical :-

Ram Gopal Varma selected a routine story to show Mohan Babu in a powerful manner. First half is riveting with family emotions and Mohan Babu dealing with vicious villains and unruly son. Second half deals with revenge after the family is attacked. The film reminds everyone of Ram Gopal Varma's earlier flicks. film falls flat in suspense element. RGV believed only in blood shed for anything and everything. The film plot is predictable right from the start.

Sai Karthik's background score is excellent. Music is ok. Cinematography of Satish Mutyla is fine. Editing is quite good. Production values are ok.
