61st National Awards Winners List

The 61st National Awards is going to be announced on Wednesday, 16th April 2014, by the Directorate of Film Festivals. This prestigious honour is awarded to celebrate the best of Indian cinema, and many regional and mainstream movies are nominated.

Best Non Feature Film- Kamal Swaroop for Rangbhoomi

Best Film on Social issues -Gulaabi Gang

Special Jury mention-Anjali Patil, child actor Chandana Roy.

Best Hindi Film -Jolly LLB

Best English Film-The Coffinmaker

Best Bengali Film -’Jatishwar’ for its soulful music.

Best Choreography -Ganesh Acharya for ‘Masto Ka Jhund’ for Bhaag Milkha Bhaag.

Special Jury Award-Yellow and MissLovely

Best Sound Design- Madras Cafe.

Best Dialogue-Marathi film Astu.

Best Female Singer-Bela Shinde for Marathi song ‘Koda Koda’.

Best Male Singer -Rupankar for Bengali film Jatishwar.

Best Supporting Actress -shared by Amruta Subhash for Astu and Alia El Kashif for Ship Of Theseus.

Best Supporting Actor-Saurabh Shukla for ‘Jolly LLB’.

Best Actor- Rajkumar for Shahid and Malayalam actor Suraj Venjaramoodu.

Best Director -Hansal Mehta for Shahid.

Best Popular Film -Bhaag Milkha Bhaag bags an award for providing wholesome entertainment.

Best Film on Social Issues: Tuhya Dharma Koncha (Marathi)

Nargis Dutt Award for Best Feature Film on National Integration: Thalaimuraigal (Tamil).

Best Feature Film -Anand Gandhi’s Ship Of Theseus

Indira Gandhi Award For Best Debut Film Of A Director: Nagraaj Manjule for Fandry
