Several names have been surfaced after Hrithik Roshan backed out of Karan Johar’s magnum opus, ‘Shuddhi’. Shahrukh Khan, Ranveer Singh’s names were considered but it is heard that Karan Johar has finally zeroed upon the ‘Dhoom 3’ actor and perfectionist Aamir Khan to star opposite the long legged dusky beauty Deepika Padukone.
If Aamir Khan gives his nod to the film then this would be Aamir and Deepika’s first film together. After Kareena Kapoor walked out of ‘Shuddhi’, Deepika has been signed. When Kareena and Hrithik backed out of the film, it was believed that the film might have shelved but Karan stunned one and all by announcing the release date of the film a day after. He announced the release date of the film when nothing was confirmed. He was very possessive about the project and does not want it to go off without making.
Deepika also showed keen interest to work with Karan Johar. "I would love to do that film but I don't think Karan (Johar) would come to me with something that he didn't think that I would do justice to," said the 'Ram-leela' actress.
